Video: HDRi Maps Provide Freedom to Move

HDRi Maps create compelling still images for product catalogs and product photography. But used directly, they can also produce powerful moving images.
This video of the Lotus Eletre uses an HDRi environment from CGI.Backgrounds to visualize the vehicle from various angles. As the camera pans, the lighting data in the HDRi map creates dynamic and compelling reflections on the vehicle model.
This is one of the biggest advantages of using an HDRI map as an automotive background rather than simply using a backplate.

Freedom to Move

Whereas Backplates are perfect for still images, HDRi Maps allow designers to place a product model inside of a virtual environment and then move the camera–and thus the viewer's attention–towards whatever detail they’d like to highlight.
In this case, the HDRi map even allows for visualization of the vehicle's interior, with realistic window-fill.
