Our 5 Best Autodesk VRED Scenes to Download for Free

This year, we were thrilled to launch a new collaboration with Autodesk , allowing us to release 5 free VRED scenes for 3D artists.
Our professionally built scenes are created around our industry-leading RAY.HDRi Maps. This provides authentic, realistic visuals of a diverse set of real-world locations. It also means that each of our VRED maps includes detailed Image Based Lighting (IBL) data. 
Our goal is to simplify the VRED design process–any designer can download one of our maps, load it into VRED, drop in a vehicle digital twin, and have the beginnings of a perfectly-lit, beautifully detailed render right at their fingertips.
Here are our 5 best Autodesk VRED maps, all of which you can download for free.

Utah Salt Flats

The Utah Salt Flats are one of the world’s most iconic destinations for testing high-performance vehicles. Many land speed records have been set and broken on the flats.
Our Utah Salt Flats VRED map lets you take any vehicle to this iconic destination. With stark light and bright reflections from the perfectly-white flats, this is also a creatively challenging and rewarding scene to use in your next render.

Neon Courtyard

Our Neon Courtyard scene captures the vibrance and energy of a city at night. Most of our scenes feature natural light, which is perfectly captured using our RAY.HDRi technology.
This scene is different. In our Neon Courtyard, the illumination comes from red neon lights surrounding the courtyard. This results in dramatic reflections, alluring colors, and a scene where light is the star of the show.

Racetrack VRED Map

In the real world, race tracks are the perfect place to push a vehicle to its limits, testing every aspect of its handling, acceleration, braking, and overall performance.
Racetrack 3D scenes serve much the same purpose. Because we captured our free Racetrack VRED scene at a massive 32k resolution, you can position your vehicle digital twin, anywhere within the scene, choose nearly any angle, and still end up with a crisp and detailed final product.
As our July Artist of the Month demonstrates , our Racetrack scene is so versatile that you can create an entire series of images within this single scene. Sometimes, you want the visuals in your 3D scene to be front and center. In other cases, the scene should provide a relatively neutral backdrop, so that your vehicle can shine through front and center.
Our Blast Wall VRED scene provides just such a backdrop. Created using RAY.HDRi Maps captured from several angles on an airport tarmac, our Blast Wall VRED map is ideal for designers who need to showcase a vehicle in a modern setting without worrying that background visuals will distract from the vehicle itself.
